I love Marmite. Being a vegetarian for over 25 years I have grown to love it for what it is – the greatest savoury spread in the world! I had been looking for a pop-art style picture of a Marmite jar, but one in different shades of blue that could go in my bathroom against a white wall. Despite looking for some time, I couldn’t find anything suitable, so started work on my own artwork. Once I had some professional studio shots taken of a large size Marmite jar by my uncle, I set about selecting and isolating the elements of the jar, lid and label and editing them in Photoshop. This is the only canvas I had printed where the Cathartic logo appears on the bottom right corner of the picture, but on subsequent pictures I decided this would look better hidden on the top or underside of the frame. This picture was printed as a 20×20 inch giclée with a gloss laminate finish.
